Based on a $110,000 salary, 5-year lease, signed today, and the ATO's current FBT exemption rules, with a 7.5% finance rate and no deposit. Includes estimated running costs and a provider management fee. The final residual is separate from weekly costs. Savings compare the same car with a standard car loan and account for differences in final payments. Your provider’s quote and personal circumstances may change the result.

Electric vans that Ford sells as commercial vehicles. They are not in our catalogue. The electric car FBT exemption only covers vehicles that count as a car for FBT, which depends on how much load they are built to carry, so check with your lease provider before assuming a van qualifies.
Both have a petrol engine as well as a battery, and Ford itself says they are not all-electric. We only track fully electric cars. Hybrids never qualified for the electric car FBT exemption and plug-in hybrids stopped qualifying on 1 April 2025, so a new novated lease on either is treated like a lease on a petrol car.
No. The Ranger Hybrid has a petrol engine, and Ford says it is not all-electric. The electric car FBT exemption only covers fully electric and hydrogen fuel-cell cars: ordinary hybrids never qualified, and plug-in hybrids stopped qualifying on 1 April 2025. You can still take a novated lease on one, but without the exemption the saving is much smaller than on an exempt electric car.
2 of the 3 Ford Mustang Mach-E variants qualify. The test is the car's list price against the threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles, so the variant you choose matters as much as the model.
Under the announced changes, new leases signed from 1 April 2027 on EVs listed above $75,000 keep only a quarter of the exemption. The Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium (list price $82,289) sits over that cap, so signing before the date locks in the full exemption for the life of the lease. The Ford Mustang Mach-E Select stays under it on current prices.
On a $110,000 salary and a 5-year lease, the Ford Mustang Mach-E shows the largest estimated saving against a standard car loan, an estimated $39,154 for its best variant. A bigger saving usually comes with a dearer car, so compare take-home pay in the calculator, not just the saving.
There is no minimum, but the saving tracks your marginal tax rate. On the Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium, the estimated saving over the term runs from about $39,154 on a $70,000 salary to about $46,427 on $190,000. Your own figure depends on your salary and the variant you choose. Calculate the Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium on your salary
Yes. A novated lease uses a salary packaging arrangement with your employer. You can explore an estimate before you know, but check with payroll which providers and arrangements your employer supports.
The calculator includes lease payments and estimated running costs. You can adjust the running costs to suit your driving. Provider fees, insurance and finance rates can vary, so compare the itemised quote with your estimate.
A residual payment remains at the end of the lease. Check this amount in your estimate and provider quote, and ask your provider about the available options for keeping, selling or refinancing the car.
